A toothpick can tell the difference between a raw and a cooked fish.  Insert the toothpick into the thickest part of the fish, feeling it as it goes down. If it penetrates the fish smoothly, meaning you don’t feel any resistance, it means that the fish is cooked. If the fish seems to resist the toothpick, it’s not yet cooked. If you can feel even the slightest of resistance, it means that the fish is not yet done.
